The Summer Solstice represents the transition from action to nourishment, which is exactly what the Sun gives us during the long nights of summer, both to our actual crops but also to the continual journey we travel from darkness to light. On the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, we are fully awake. Our spirits are alive, refreshed, renewed, energized; all that good, juicy, rich stuff we feel in the sun.
On these long days of summer our spirits yearn to be out, to feel alive, to be moving, and celebrating. We’re the closest to the sun that we’ll be all year. That means we are currently being bathed in the energy of the sun. The sun is, literally, all fire. And for nearly 24 hours a day right now the northern hemisphere is just soaking up all that fierce, intense, electrifying, invigorating, exhilarating energy. That means there is an absolute abundance of that rich fire energy available for you & me to soak up as well. We can use that energy to inspire us, to uplift us, to energize us. To light our fires!
June’s full Moon—typically the last full Moon of spring or the first of summer—has traditionally been called the Strawberry Moon. While strawberries certainly are a reddish-pink color and are roundish in shape, the origin of the name “Strawberry Moon” has nothing to do with the Moon’s hue or appearance. A Moon usually appears reddish when it’s close to the horizon because the light rays must pass through the densest layers of the atmosphere.
For this event I will be launching my Summer Solstice blend from my new product line called "Shine Your Light". My intention in creating the blend comes from the belief that when you share your light with the world, the beauty and perfection of your soul becomes clearly visible. We are each born into this world with unique gifts. Within us is a glimmer of the divine, a light that can potentially make the world a more beautiful place. When we undermine our light by hiding our aptitudes and quashing our dreams we deny ourselves and others a wealth of experiences. Your abilities are a part of who you are and when you take pride in them, you affirm the love, esteem, and trust with which you view yourself. As you express the light within, you grant others permission to do the same, freeing them to explore their own talents. When you embrace your talents and share them with others, you will spread illumination in the world.
The ceremony will take place outside (weather permitting). Feel free to wear something yellow or orange! Food and drink will follow the ceremony.
